6 days to go.
All has been going great.
We are getting some nice practice for Malawi. I had forgotten the entire Ottawa Valley rolls up for the night at 6:00. This did cause a few hick-ups but we overcame.
We spent a week in the woods at Jodi's parents cabin. That was good practice for Malawi.
Jodi read an article in the Ottawa Citizen about a nurse in Lilongwe Malawi that worked alone in an AIDS hospital. She did not have any gloves. So.. we asked our church family to bring in a box and we would bring them with us to Malawi. Back up the truck! we are having a super response!
That's about it for now.

For all those that I worked with remember before you were born Jesus knew and loved you. He loves you now and when everything is gone he will still love you and be there for you.

In Christ

Columbus Ohio, USA

Day 3 of the trip home to Canada.

Wednesday Aug 9, 8:30 a.m. bye-bye Denver Colorado.
We drove to Topeka Kansas and stayed at the Residence Inn. Along the way we may have found the hottest place on earth. Goodale Kansas – 109F and windy.

Last night we had an exciting night in St. Louis Missouri. Well at 1:30 a.m. it was exciting as the fire trucks arrived! We got to watch the whole thing from the internal balcony. As far as we can figure out someone fell asleep while smoking in bed. We got to see the fire fighters carrying out the burnt mattress and box spring.

We have been having such a great trip! We have been picnicking at lunch along the way – this has been great, the food is good and the company and play time are better.

Tonight we went for a walk down Front St., Columbus Ohio When we returned what did we come back to? Two fire truck out front of our hotel! The kids said “oh no, not again!”
After a short wait outside we were allowed to go up to our room – false alarm.

By the way, gas prices $3.06/gal Colorado, Kansas (saw $3.18), Illinois, Indiana, $2.86 in Ohio.

Tickets are in hand – we leave at 10:40 pm on September 5th!

We fly to London England (6hr 50min flight) then onto Johannesburg South Africa (11hr 5min flight) then onto Lilongwe Malawi (3hr 25min flight).

Jodi had a great idea. Since we have an 8hr 20 min layover in London and since there is a Hilton hotel attached to the airport and since we have enough points for a free room….
We booked a room to hang out in during our lay over.
This will be a blessing – the kids can swim, play, sleep and shower before getting on the plane to Johannesburg.

We have a 3hr 25 min layover in Johannesburg so that should be just enough time to get something to eat and have a good stretch.

We arrive in Lilongwe at 12:45pm so I’m thinking the jet lag won’t be too bad.
